Hye Sherrie..it's hard to get in touch with you.Busy
with studies?Okey...introduce yourself.

well..my name is Sherrie. i call myself a poseur but
you peeps can call whatever you want because i don't
care. i'm a law student in UiTM Shah Alam in my
second of my degree course.Insyallah i'll be
graduating next two years. not really busy with my
studies entirely...i found a new addiction...
hihihiii...debating.

What make you start doing 'Explicit Instinct' zine at
the beginning?

the reason why i started with Explicit Instinct was because i was practically bored sitting at Metro kajang everyday doing nothing productive.so..i got together with PendeQ, Noby and my bro, Wira...to come up with the whole idea of trying to express our views and share it with others. it was basically an ad hoc kinda plan but we had fun doing it.everyone supported our idea and i did get a lot of good
contribution from arul and almost all my friends in kajang

 

'Explicit Instinct' is about ...

Explicit Instinct was originally created on the basis of skateboarding in general. nothing much specific but basically a write up on skateboarding issues and movement especially around kajang area. the rest we kinda add up to any contribution of articles of whoever wish to contribute. But now.. I would try to expand the zine to more intellectual level and adding up to social and legal awareness that we lack of.the thought of knowing your right in the eye of law and also general issues that happens throughout the world is essential so that we don't live under a nutshell and not conforming to the majority of  masses without questioning to the essential necessities

 

Where do you skate?

usually at home. i live in bangi.hardly any more.got no time lately.

 

When you get into skating?

Ermm...When I was in form three.That was in 1997.

How you start skating?

Funny thing was..it was during one time when I was n form 3 someone sent me a hate mail accusing me being a poseur.. trying to look and act like a skater and stuff..and at that time I don't even know what skateboarding was all about so to prove him right...

I did eventually act like a poseur and to me there was nothing wrong with that because I was not encroaching on his right.so..I did some research, got to know some sk8 buddies ...they thought me about skateboarding and I eventually got hooked up like lollipop.

When is the next issue come out?

Well..not anytime soon.Hopefully.I'm busy with my studies,assignments, exams and stuff.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Last shout out...

To those who are interested in skateboarding...I fully encourage you to do it.I'm still addicted to it.I sleep with my sk8board anyway. To those who are into zine writing...expand your intellectual and creativity horizon.To Yati..thank you for giving me the honour of this interview.to all my skate buddies in Kajang.. especially to Ujey, Anjat, Amir, Adrian, Edd, Rahmat, Padil...and many more....don't ditch sk8boarding, live it like its part of you. Thank you peeps.!! Love ya 'all.
